Novus offers a diverse set of frequency reference products. From our low cost TCXO frequency references to our Rubidium frequency references to our high-performance GPS disciplined references (GPS DO) -Novus frequency references offer low phase noise, accuracy and reliability. From one to twenty channels, modular, rackmount, portable or micro-packaged- Novus offers a form factor to meet your frequency reference needs. Available features include redundant power, SNMP, self-test, ultra-low phase noise, dual-Time base, real-time Allan Deviation, and synthesized frequency references.

For use cases that demand greater precision, we have GPS disciplined oscillators that will provide single satellite tracking capabilities that are GLONASS compatible and therefore supported by GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, and SBSS networks.

This product also adds a 26 channel GNSS receiver that brings the long-term stability of GNSS. The GNSS GPS receiver disciplines the Rubidium source.  The NR2310D-ROG brings the best of three timing technologies together- the low phase noise of the OCXO, excellent holdover stability of Rubidium and the long-term stability of GNSS locking.  Ten channels typically meets the needs of most systems eliminating the need for a distribution amplifier and minimizing noise degradation. All channels are continuously monitored and displayed locally and accessible via RS232 or Ethernet.

A low cost reference featuring the stability of Rubidium (< 1 ppb/year). In many applications, an OCXO does not have the stability required and GNSS GPS locking is not an option. This reference offers excellent stability where cost is a major driver and the higher phase noise of Rubidium is acceptable. If low phase is also required see our NR2310D-RO that adds a low phase noise OCXO to improve phase noise. The ten channel configuration yields a better phase noise and skewing than a reference and a separate distribution amplifier. Skewing for the ten channels is less than 5 ns. This single rack unit chassis, having ten channels, frequently meets the needs of complex systems and often eliminates the need for a distribution amplifier.

The Novus KronosΙ represents our highest performance reference for the most demanding master reference applications. The 184 channel GNSS receiver provides critical timing information that is highly processed to minimize reference jitter and noise.  The receiver supports.  GPS L1C/A L2C, GLO L1OF L2OF, GAL E1B/C E5b, BDS B1I B2I, QZSS L1C/A L1S L2C, SBAS L1C/A. To assure the integrity of the reference, a separate GNSS receiver is used as an independent time base for an internal gapless frequency counter to monitor the master reference.

A real time continuous calculation of Allan Deviation is performed and is likely the best indicator of reference health one could have. Data logging allows the user to review timing performance on any day from a performance log that is more than two years deep. Alerts can be established to detect a variation from Allan Deviation standard performance.

To further enhance stability, the timing control network and reference are vibration and thermally-isolated. The timing loop operates with a 40 psec resolution to enhance process control. Power supplies include wide bandwidth linear regulators to eliminate ripple noise from the amplifiers. Amplifiers are further isolated with individual passive filters and the amplifiers have over 100 dB of 60 Hz rejection. Every element of the design is focused on stability and noise reduction.
